What/Who is the Young Creative Council?
We're a group of advertising creatives aiming to bridge the (ever expanding) gap between the creative industry and education. We help motivate, inspire, educate and support those wishing to make a go of it in the creative industry through workshops, talks, portfolio nights, classes, socials and our own projects.
What we offer:
Events & workshops
Over the years we’ve hosted a number of events and workshops, from panel discussions to illustration workshops. Keep an eye on our social feed for upcoming events.
We have a good relationship with a number of creative universities & colleges across the UK where we host talks.
Example of talks:
“So you’ve got a foot in the door, what the hell happens behind it?”
“To degree or disagree – why university isn’t’ always the key to success”
“Advertising – what you don’t learn at uni”
“Getting a job, what to do, what not to do”
If you’re a university/school/college lecturer and would like to have a member of the YCC speak to your students please drop us an email. We can tailor the content specific to your needs so just let us know.
We often work with agencies to offer portfolio evenings, where young creatives can meet top industry professionals to show their work and get valuable real-time feedback. So far, we’ve worked with agencies including: iris, RG/A, Wunderman, Digitas and many more.
If you’re interested in setting up a portfolio evening at your agency please let us know.
Every quarter we host our ‘single mingle’ events where single art directors and copywriters can come to take part in a speed dating style event where they have the chance to share work, and hopefully find someone to team up with.
We also host singlecreatives.com - a site for finding your creative, other half.
We also work with agencies to offer live briefs to students. These often lead to placements and job offers. Keep an eye on our website and social channels for opportunities.
Also associated with the YCC is our jobs board. AdJobWall is a site and twitter page where we post junior/intern jobs. All jobs we post are paid.
If you're interested in what we do, would like to partner with us, join us or ask us anything please speak to us via:
